WoodWorking

me
Here you will find information about woodworking, my workshop, my old workshop, info on some of my tools, and some projects that I have completed and am working on.

My love for working wood was born from the skateboard ramps I built as a teenager. I've always enjoyed building things, constructing something with my hands from raw materials. I find it incredibly satisfying to manipulate and form a piece of wood into something that was initially just a thought in my head; to watch it gradually be shaped to a recognizable thing. I think the physicality of woodworking and the tactile nature of it are particularly appealing to me. In my professional life I am a software engineer and spend my time creating things that have no physical form or function. For me to be able to come home and spend some time creating something I can touch, feel, and even smell is a great balance.

In the summer of 2005 the garage at my apartment became available and I quickly rented it. I have since moved to a larger place with a larger garage and a seperate 8'x8' "hobby room" that I use for galootish activities.
